Here’s a small window on my life

Guitarist Danilo Mormandi is a performer, band leader, arranger and teacher based in the Rome.

Active member of several projects that range among jazz, rock, blues, funk,
fusion, soul and pop.

Born and raised in Italy, his musical journey starts with classical guitar lessons. This leads to his experience in the Music Academy of Rome, where he is inspired to pursue a musical career under the guidance of teachers Michelangelo Piperno, Roberto Gavazzi, Fabio Taddeo, Andrea Avena.
During this period he falls in love with jazz and starts to take individual lessons and attend masterclasses of local and international musicians like Peter Bernstein, Gilad Heksleman, Lage Lund, Scott Henderson, Wayne Krantz, Fabio Zeppetella, Nicola Puglielli, Edoardo Righini and many more.

From 2016 he lives in the Netherlands where he studies with Martijn Van Iterson and at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Here the chance to meet many more
musicians leads to the birth of several musical projects like Icarus Cloud, B.S.C. and his own trio, with which he explores the influences of his heroes John Scofield and Pat Metheny writing his own compositions and arrangement.

Strong of the experience he is accumulating while studying and the influence of modern artists, his mission is to contribute to the evolution and the development of music, aiming to create an engaging and original experience for the listener.
